Islam is not relativist. However we recognize that people are products of their environment. Atheists and secular humanists are hypocrites. On the one hand they have to be relativists, on the other they want to be universalistic and absolute. They want to impose their relativist values on everyone and they willfully do not want to see a contradiction in this. Crazy.
Sometimes atheists will adopt the rational/science route to impose their morals on people. This too however is clutching at straws. They cannot use the authority of science to justify their morals because:
1) science is progressive and changes its ‘truths’ through time. For instance anal sex was considered unhealthy by doctors not so long ago, now it seems everyone is being told to do it.
2) scientists from a culture also carry that cultures values into their work. Their scientific theories are contaminated with value judgments. This also gives power to others in society. It means before a sovereign and free human being wants to decide on a course of action, they must ask others who have set themselves up as ‘priests’ or ‘bankers’, or ‘scientists’ or ‘The State’ to see if it is okay. This is losing power and freedom.
3) The notion of childhood for instance, who is too young to decide on having sexual relations, to marry, to go to work and earn a living is highly relativistic, not all cultures have the same notions and from the point of view of atheism they cannot insist that everyone be made to follow their notions.
4) atheist may use an ad hominem argument (Latin: “argument to the man”, “argument against the man”) consists of replying to an argument or factual claim by attacking or appealing to a characteristic or belief of the person making the argument or claim, rather than by addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence against the claim. The process of proving or disproving the claim is thereby subverted, and the argumentum ad hominem works to change the subject. So they will pretend that someone is advocating cannibalism just because they use that as an example of relativist cultural values.
To conclude atheists have no grounds to assert their moralities on anyone else. They have absolutely nothing to ground their values on. The only way they can impose their views is by shouting loudly or saying ‘might is right’ because they have the backing of their State. Pathetic.
